Skip Gorman Tournament Weekend is the last Friday and Saturday of the Fall season.
It is with great sadness to all of the HAYSA Board the passing of a great soccer advocate, Skip Gorman on Sunday July 4th, 2010.
Skip had been on the Mass Youth Soccer board for over a decade serving as both the Executive Vice-President and the President during his tenure.
He also courageously stepped up to serve as interim Executive Director to help the organization persevere after Mass Youth lost John Burrill.
Skip has been president of Holbrook Youth Soccer and of the South Shore Soccer League.
He was a coach for his children's teams and within the District Select Program and a referee assignor for the South Shore League.
His volunteer hours count in the tens of thousands as his passion and love for children and soccer drove him to tirelessly find ways to help them enjoy our beautiful game.
Skip always put the children's needs first and we in the HAYSA family will greatly miss his passion and sincere devotion to our mission and to the children we all serve.
We dedicate a Grand Weekend in the memory of Skip and all that he has done for our program at the end of each Fall Season.
This event is held Annually at the end of the Fall Soccer Season. Each team plays a full tournament with a game guaranteed under the lights.
This will be a fun event for everyone. We'll have games and activities for the kids such as face painting, inflatables, etc.
The South Shore Soccer League has a College Scholarship set up in Skip's name as well.
